Mayor of Depok: Studying at UT is Flexible, Suitable for Busy Individuals 

Universitas Terbuka Bogor proudly conducted a graduation ceremony with enthusiasm and pride. The Regional Graduation of Universitas Terbuka (UT) Bogor for the First Period of 2024 was successfully held at the Universitas Terbuka Convention Center (UTCC) on Thursday, February 22, 2024. This event marked a historic moment for 1,498 UT Bogor students who successfully completed their studies brightly. 

During this occasion, four faculties were graduated: the Faculty of Law, Social and Political Sciences, the Faculty of Science and Technology, the Faculty of Economics and Business, and the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education. The educational levels varied from Diploma, Bachelor’s, and Postgraduate degrees. The graduates came from the areas of Kota Kabupaten Bogor, Kota Kabupaten Sukabumi, Kabupaten Cianjur, and Kota Sukabumi. 

The graduation process, led by the Rector of Universitas Terbuka (UT), Prof. Ojat Darojat, M.Bus, Ph.D., became an unforgettable moment for the graduates and their families. Besides being attended by the graduates and their families, the event also became a valuable moment as the Mayor of Depok, Dr. K. H. Mohammad Idris, Lc., M.A., was present to congratulate the graduates from the Faculty of Economics and Business. The presence of the Mayor of Depok added extra encouragement for the graduates as they entered a new chapter in their lives. 

Furthermore, the Director of UT Bogor, Drs. Enang Rusyana, M.Pd., and the Head of the Teacher and Education Personnel Department of Disdikpora Kab. Cianjur, Mr. Wawan Sutiawan, S.Pd., M.M., congratulated to the students who successfully completed their studies at UT. Astridina S.Sos., M.M., the Chair of the Alumni Family Association of UT Bogor Region, also attended to receive alumni data and symbolically award scholarships to five disabled students. The unity of these leaders and significant figures added a special touch to this graduation celebration. 

“In every graduation ceremony, there are many stories and struggles from each individual sitting in the graduation chair. It is not just about a degree but also about a long journey, sacrifices, and perseverance in pursuing dreams,” said Prof. Ojat in his speech. 

Mayor of Depok, Dr. K. H. Mohammad Idris, Lc., M.A., added, “Studying at UT is flexible and very helpful for students with busy schedules.” 

The graduation ceremony proceeded solemnly and emotionally. Every moment became an integral part of the long journey of each student in the pursuit of knowledge and dreams. The spirit and inspiration reflected by each graduate serve as a driving force for the next generation to continue striving and contributing. Universitas Terbuka Bogor congratulates the graduates on their outstanding achievements. May this success be the beginning of a more brilliant and beneficial journey for themselves, their families, and society.
