Learning System

UT implementing distance learning system and open. The term distance learning means not done face to face, but using the media, both print media (modules) and non-print (audio / video, computer / internet, radio and television).

Meaning open is no age restriction, the diploma, apprenticeship, registration time, and frequency of exams. Boundaries are only that every student must have graduated from UT secondary education (high school or its equivalent).

How to self-learning requires students to learn on their own initiative or initiatives. Self-learning can be done individually or in groups, both in the study group and in the group tutorials. UT provides teaching materials that are made specifically to be studied independently.

In addition to using teaching materials provided by UT, students can also take the initiative to use the library, follow the tutorial either face to face or over the internet, radio, and television, as well as using other learning resources such as computer-aided instructional materials and program audio / video. When having difficulty learning, students can request information about learning assistance to the Unit of Distance Learning Program Open University (UPBJJ-UT) local.

Independent learning in many ways determined by the ability to learn effectively. The ability to learn depends on the speed of reading and the ability to understand the content of reading. To be able to learn effectively independent, UT students are required to have self-discipline, initiative, and a strong motivation to learn.

Students are also required to be able to manage his time efficiently, so that they can learn on a regular basis based learning self-determined schedule. Therefore, in order to successfully study at UT, prospective students must be prepared to learn independently.[/box]

Tutorials are learning support services for students UT. In the tutorial, learning activities carried out under the guidance of the tutor as a facilitator.

Tutorials and discuss things that are considered difficult and very important student mastered. For more details, the material covered in the tutorial activities concerned.

  1. Competencies essential or important concepts in a course;
  2. Problems found students in learning modules;
  3. Issues related to performance (practice / practicum) students in the classroom or outside the tutorial; and / or
  4. Issues relating to the application of science in everyday life.

Learning outcomes of students in one semester is measured through the UAS. Value UAS contribute at least 50% of the final value of the course.

The shape can be a matter of UAS written objective test (multiple choice) or test description (essay). Answer test for objective tests done in Exam Answer Sheet (LJU) and to test the description is done in the Answer Book Exam (BJU). To fill LJU student must use 2B pencil.

In some courses, the UAS is also given in the form of an oral examination (eg Speaking courses), and listen (eg courses Listening). UAS written and oral held simultaneously in a test that determined by UT (see Appendix 7). According to applicable regulations, any student who has registered the course and pay the fees and meet the requirements, automatically registered as candidates for the exam.

In addition to the written and oral exams, UT also offers an online exam. Online test, known as the Online Testing System (SUO), intended to:

  1. Provide an opportunity for students to be able to follow the schedule UAS UAS outside the written and oral specified in the academic kalende UT;
  2. Provide an opportunity to address the conflicting test clock (one of the subjects clash could be followed through SUO).

Several provisions SUO implementation is as follows:

  1. SUO held at the UPBJJ-UT approximately two weeks after the written exam.
  2. One day exam consists of 3 sessions and each session lasted 90 minutes.
  3. Capacity space provided UPBJJ-UT ranged between 4-15 students each test session.
  4. Day, date, and time of the test is determined by UPBJJ-UT. Therefore, applicants should contact UPBJJ-UT to get the certainty of the SUO.
  5. List of courses offered for SUO can be seen in http://student.ut.ac.id.
  6. To be eligible for SUO, the student must register the course to be followed (by paying Rp 20,000, – / credits). Then, SUO register online by paying Rp 40,000, – per subject.
  7. After payment, submit invoices to UPBJJ- UT (comes directly, by post / fax / email) no later than 3 days after registering online.
  8. Awaiting confirmation of UPBJJ-UT. Confirmation process is considered valid if the student has received a password that is sent through the account UT Online in http://student.ut.ac.id.
  9. Students are eligible for a student who is registered SUO is already getting confirmation from UPBJJ-UT or UT Center and has had password. Without the password, the student can not follow SUO.
  10. To be eligible for SUO, student should come to UPBJJ- UT on a predetermined day with a student card or ID card / driving license and print out the confirmation of UT. Without proof of identity and proof of confirmation as SUO participants, students are not allowed to follow SUO.
