BPD Bali and UT Denpasar Forge Partnership, Creating Balinese Bachelors and Strengthening Monetary Inclusion!

Denpasar, July 2, 2025 – Universitas Terbuka (UT) Denpasar continues to strengthen its existence as an inclusive digital campus that opens access to higher education for all segments of society. This time, UT Denpasar collaborated with PT Bank Pembangunan Daerah Bali (BPD Bali) through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) which coincided with the inauguration of the UT Denpasar Building on Wednesday (July 2, 2025).

This collaboration marks the synergy between the education and financial sectors to drive the development of human resources in Bali through two main channels: open higher education and community financial literacy. This cooperation includes support for digital financial services for UT students, easy access to education payments, and banking and financial literacy education among the academic community of UT Denpasar.

The Business Director of Bank BPD Bali, I Nyoman Sumanaya, stated that the collaboration with UT Denpasar is a concrete form of BPD Bali’s commitment to contribute to the overall quality development of human resources in Bali.

“We believe this collaboration will expand access to quality higher education while introducing financial literacy early on to students. This is important so that our young generation is not only academically intelligent but also financially wise,” he expressed.

In line with this, the Director of UT Denpasar, I Wayan Adnyana, M.Si., conveyed that this collaboration aligns with UT’s spirit as a campus that provides unlimited access to education. He emphasized that UT continues to strive to be present among the Balinese community who need flexible and affordable higher education alternatives.

“With the support of BPD Bali, we want to ensure that no Balinese family is left behind in higher education. UT is here as a strategic partner in shaping a generation of graduates from all corners of Bali, unconstrained by costs, distance, or time,” he said.

Adnyana also mentioned that this collaboration will be utilized to develop joint programs, including financial literacy seminars, student MSME mentoring, and strengthening digital education within the UT campus ecosystem.

The Rector of Universitas Terbuka, Dr. Mohamad Yunus, S.S., M.A., also attended the event, affirming that UT is a campus for the people, and its presence in Bali is expected to strengthen the equitable distribution of higher education in eastern Indonesia.
