Universitas Terbuka (UT) Gorontalo continues to expand opportunities for student development, not only through its flexible learning system but also by building strategic partnerships with various institutions. One such initiative is its collaboration with the Regional Representative Council (Dewan Perwakilan Daerah Republik Indonesia – DPD RI) Representative of Gorontalo Province, which opens the door for UT students to participate in the national DPD RI Ambassador program.
The meeting was attended by UT Gorontalo Director Safriansyah, S.Sos., M.Si., along with members of the university’s management team, including Finance, Human Resources, and General Affairs Manager Burhan Mohamad, S.E., Learning, Student Affairs, and Alumni Manager Nur Asiah, S.Sos., M.Si., Outreach, Registration, and Examination Manager Yasir M. Pidu, S.E., M.M., and Student Affairs and Alumni Officer Justin Garai Uno, S.P. Representing the DPD RI Office of Gorontalo Province were Office Head Laode Badri Jui, S.E., Subdivision Head Abdul Muis Kuku, S.E., Protocol Officer Dhimas, Administrative Staff member Mulyadi Daud, and Security Officer Djamarudin Laiya.
Safriansyah stated that the meeting marked the beginning of a strategic partnership between UT Gorontalo and the DPD RI Representative of Gorontalo Province.
“We are grateful to welcome the courtesy visit from the DPD RI Representative of Gorontalo. During the meeting, we discussed the implementation of the DPD RI Ambassador Program, which is planned to be held this year,” he said.
According to Safriansyah, the DPD RI Ambassador Program will involve senior high school students and university students from institutions across Indonesia. Therefore, UT Gorontalo is committed to nominating students with strong potential to participate in the selection process.
“We fully support this initiative because it encourages student engagement beyond the classroom. National programs like this also contribute to achieving the university’s performance indicators,” he added.
In addition to discussing future collaboration, UT Gorontalo continues to encourage the public to pursue higher education. Admissions for new students remain open until August 7, 2026, with applications accepted both online and through on-campus services.
Safriansyah encouraged recent high school graduates as well as working professionals not to hesitate to continue their education. He emphasized that UT’s flexible learning system enables students to earn a university degree without having to leave their jobs.
“Even if you choose to work after graduating from high school, you can still pursue higher education. UT is one of the best alternatives because its flexible learning system allows people to work while continuing their studies,” he explained.
UT Gorontalo currently offers a variety of undergraduate programs, including Law, Public Administration, Management, Accounting, and several other fields of study. Information about academic programs and admission procedures is available through UT’s official website.
The collaboration with the DPD RI reinforces UT Gorontalo’s commitment to providing higher education that is not only accessible but also creates opportunities for students to develop their talents and potential. Through partnerships with strategic institutions, students are encouraged to gain experiences beyond the classroom, expand their professional networks, strengthen their competencies, and better prepare themselves for the workforce while contributing to society. This initiative supports the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
