In the era of an increasingly competitive career world, having personal advantages and being an outstanding candidate is key to achieving success. Answering this challenge, Universitas Terbuka (UT) collaborated with PT Telkom Indonesia in holding a webinar with the theme “Smart Strategy to Reach Dream Career: Building Leadership and The Art of Making CV” online on Friday, December 6, 2024.
This event aims to train the technical skills and soft skills of the participants, including leadership and personal branding. This webinar hosts two expert speakers from both academics and practitioners, Cana Paramita, President and Founder of Level Up by Telkom Indonesia and Dr. Kabul Wahyu Utomo, Head of The Management Masters Study Program of UT. This is hoped to produce candidates that are not only leading on paper but also leaving good impressions in the professional world.
The event began with the opening remarks by the Dean of The Faculty of Law, Social Sciences, and Political Science, Dr. Meita Istianda, S.IP., M.Si.. In her opening remarks, she stated that in order to face an increasingly competitive job market, development of human resources is necessary, especially soft and hard skills relevant to industry needs.
With this urgency, UT as the pioneer of open and distance learning (ODL) in Indonesia has a commitment to prepare students with necessary skills for their career. Dr. Meita hopes that this collaboration with PT Telkom Indonesia can help UT students create their own appealing CVs. Through this webinar, participants could build their mindset and leadership skills to work better as a team.
The event continued with the remark and presentation by Ni Made Chyntia as the Employer Branding Lead of PT Telkom Indonesia. She expressed her appreciation towards UT for the collaboration. She also introduced the “Digistar” program, which is PT Telkom Indonesia’s way to develop skills of young talents for their careers.
The speaker presentations are moderated by Sarah Fadilla, S.Pd., M.A.B. from UT. The first presentation by Cana Paranita titled “Perfecting Resume Development to Showcase Leadership Strength” which focuses on CV creation and personal branding. Cana also discussed the importance of soft and hard skills in leadership.
Dr. Kabul Wahyu Utomo, S.E., M.Si., the second speaker, delivered the presentation “Developing Leader’s Mindset for Career Growth”, highlighting the importance of leadership in long term career growth.
This National Webinar of Universitas Terbuka and PT Telkom Indonesia is concrete proof of positive synergy between education and industry.
