Upgrading Lecture Quality! UT Held A Workshop for Visual Communication Design Interactive Learning Materials

Jakarta, August 27, 2024 – Universitas Terbuka (UT) proudly announces the successful workshop on the development of interactive learning materials for the Visual Communication Design (DKV) Study Program, which took place from August 19 to 24, 2024, at Swiss Belhotel Pondok Indah, Jakarta. This workshop is an important step in the preparation for the launch of the DKV program, which is planned to open in 2025. 

The event was opened by Dr. Meita Istianda, S.IP., M.Si., Dean of the Faculty of Law, Social Sciences, and Political Sciences at UT, who delivered a speech on the importance of developing innovative learning materials to support the new DKV program curriculum. In her remarks, she emphasized UT’s commitment to providing high-quality education that aligns with the developments in the design industry. 

The workshop involved a team of material developers consisting of leading experts from the Indonesian Institute of the Arts (ISI) Yogyakarta, including: 

– Indiria Maharsi, S.Sn., M.Sn. 

– Gogor Bangsa, S.Sn., M.Sn. 

– Arief Agung Suwasono, M.Sn. 

– Edi Jatmiko, S.Sn., M.Sn. 

These experts have collaborated intensively to develop interactive learning materials for four core courses of the DKV program: Graphic Design History, Drawing, Illustration, and Typography. The result of this workshop includes the Course Plan (RMK) and the Design of Learning Materials, which are expected to meet the higher education needs in the field of visual communication design. 

“This workshop is a very important initial milestone for our DKV program. With high-quality interactive learning materials, we hope to provide a more in-depth and engaging learning experience for students,” said Dr. Meita Istianda in her speech.
