UT and MPR-RI Signed Cooperation Agreement for 4-Pilar Socialization

As the subsequent action of the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between the People’s Consultative Assembly of the Republic of Indonesia (MPR-RI) and the Indonesia Open University (UT) which was done on 28 August 2020, both institutions agree to enter into a Cooperation Agreement or PKS.

The signing of the Cooperation Agreement between MPR-RI and UT regarding the Socialization of MPR-RI’s Four Pillars was held on Friday, (18 September 2020) at GBHN Room, the Nusantara Building, 2nd Floor. Such Cooperation Agreement was signed by the Secretary General of the People’s Consultative Assembly of the Republic of Indonesia (MPR-RI), Dr. Ma’ruf Cahyono, S.H, M.H. and UT’s Vice Rector for Institutional Development and Cooperation Affairs or Wakil Rektor Bidang Pengembangan Institusi dan Kerjasama, Dr. Liestyodono Bawono Irianto, M.Si.

Prior to the signing of the Cooperation Agreement or PKS, the UT’s Vice Rector for Institutional Development and Cooperation Affairs, Liestyodono expressed his sincere gratitude and appreciation to MPR as it has provided the opportunity for UT that allows UT to enter into the cooperation. Subsequently, he also explained UT’s overall conditions and its number of the students who are spread throughout Indonesia and abroad. In addition, he also stated that UT is ready to assist MPR to make the socialization of MPR RI’s Four Pillars which are contained in such cooperation.

In the same opportunity, the Secretary General of the People’s Consultative Assembly of the Republic of Indonesia (MPR-RI), Ma’ruf Cahyono, briefly explained about the history of MPR-RI’s Four Pillars. Ma’ruf also stated that the Socialization of MPR RI’s Four Pillars is one of the duties that all Higher Education Institutions have to perform, including the Indonesia Open University itself for the purposes of the implementation of the Three Principles of Higher Education (Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi).

The signing ceremony of the Cooperation Agreement or PKS was attended by all the echelon I and II officials within the Secretariat General Office of the People’s Consultative Assembly of the Republic of Indonesia (MPR-RI) and Dean of Faculty Law, Social Science and Political Science (FHISIP) UT, Dr. Sofjan Aripin, M.Si, Head of the Department of Administration Science of Faculty Law, Social Science and Political Science (FHISIP UT) Drs. Syarif Fadillah, M.Si, as well as the staff representatives of the Cooperation Division of the Indonesia Open University.
