35th Anniversary of Lustrum VII Open University Highlights

For the 35th Anniversary, the Open University (UT) continues to develop its wings in Higher Education, Open and Distance (PTTJJ) accompanied by various forms of cooperation both with domestic and foreign agencies. UT as a pioneer in Distance Education (PJJ) must continue to develop through various innovations and cooperation in order to strengthen its role as a Cyber ​​University.

The highlight of the 35th Anniversary of Lustrum VII of the Open University which was on September 4, 2019 with the theme 'Strengthening Nation's Connectivity in the Cyber ​​Era' was held at the Open University Convention Center (UTCC). In his remarks, UT Rector Prof. Ojat Darojat, M.Bus., Ph.D. said that currently UT has a role in promoting online learning, including developing the Indonesia Cyber ​​Education Institute (ICE Institute) together with various other tertiary institutions. Furthermore, Prof. Dr. Ismunandar Director General of Learning and Student Affairs of the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education supports the implementation of online and blended learning-based education developed by UT.

To support the making of higher education open for all, Prof. H. Mohamad Nasir, Drs., Ak., M.Sc., Ph.D. (Menristekdikti) represented by Prof. Dr. Ismunandar (Director General of Belmawa) submitted operational licenses for the Doctoral Study Program in Management of the Faculty of Economics and the Doctor of Public Administration of FHISIP to the UT Rector witnessed by Prof. Dr. Paulina Pannen, M.Ls. as the Academic Expert Staff and Totok Suhartanto Head of the Directorate for Higher Education Development of the Academic Program of the Ministry of Research and Technology. UT is a pioneer in organizing Doctoral Studies programs in the Distance Learning mode (PJJ). Then, the event continued with the launching and submission of the "Potret Tutor UT Berkinerja Terbaik", a book by Prof. Ir. Tian Belawati, Ph.D. and Prof. Hanif Nurcholis, as well as the Alumni Book "UT Menembus Batas" to Menristekdikti.

On the same occasion, UT agreed to establish cooperation with the Bangka Belitung Regional Police, which was actualized by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) in organizing teaching and learning activities programs through the distance learning system in order to increase student participation rates. This MOU was signed by the Deputy Rector for Institutional Development and Cooperation Dr. Liestyodono Bawono Irianto, M.Sc. with the Pangkal Pinang Regional Police Head represented by the Head of the Bangka Belitung Islands Regional Police HR Bureau, Kombes Dra. Dien Irhastini, M.Sc. witnessed by the UT Rector, Karo Jianbang Lemdiklat Polri, Brigjen Pol. Drs. Ade Rahmat Suhendi and UT Pangkal Pinang Director Hasmonel, S.H., M.Hum.

The UT Rector also presented the UT Awards, Rector Awards and Winners of the Sports Competition. The event was ended with a wonderful performance from Ari Lasso.
